Want to stop weeds before they ever appear? Spartan is a selective pre-emergent herbicide that provides residual control of weeds in established turf — including Winter Grass (Poa annua), Summer Grass and crowsfoot — by forming a barrier that stops weed seeds establishing.
Active Ingredient: Prodiamine @ 480g/L (suspension concentrate)
Spartan controls susceptible weeds by interfering with cell division in the root tips of newly germinated weeds. Existing weeds are not controlled — timing is everything.
When to apply: Autumn (March–May) to prevent Winter Grass, and late winter/early spring to prevent summer weeds. Suitable for established Couch, Kikuyu, Buffalo, Zoysia and most warm-season lawns.
