Insecticide Calculator FAQ

How do I know if I have lawn grubs?

Look for irregular brown patches, increased bird activity (especially magpies and ibis digging up the lawn), or moths flying out of the grass at dusk. You can confirm grubs by pulling back a small section of turf and looking for white C-shaped larvae in the soil.

When is the best time to apply lawn insecticide?

Preventatively: Apply Acelepryn or Fortune Ultra in late spring / early summer before lawn grubs hatch. Curatively: Apply as soon as you notice damage. Water in well after granular products like Acelepryn GR or Monarch G.

How often should I treat for lawn grubs?

Acelepryn provides up to 6 months protection from a single application — usually one treatment per season is enough. Fortune Ultra and Monarch G may need repeat applications depending on pest pressure.

Are these insecticides safe for pets and kids?

Always follow label directions. As a general rule, keep pets and children off the treated lawn until the product has dried (liquid) or has been watered in and the lawn has dried (granular). Acelepryn has a particularly low toxicity profile for mammals.

Granular vs liquid — what's better?

Granular products (Acelepryn GR, Monarch G) are easier to apply with a spreader and provide longer-lasting residual control. Liquid products (Acelepryn liquid, Fortune Ultra) act faster and give more even coverage, but need a sprayer.
