How to use

Regulate growth in three steps

Mix

Shake well, half-fill your sprayer, add Primo HG at the rate for your grass type, 10 to 40ml per 100m² for couch and buffalo, then top up to 10L of water and shake to mix.

Spray

Spray evenly across the whole lawn. Avoid mowing for 6 hours either side of application, and do not water for at least 1 hour.

Repeat

Reapply every 2 to 6 weeks through the growing season, adjusting the rate to your conditions.

Use the lower rate when growth is moderate and the higher rate when growth is vigorous or you want 4 to 6 weeks of regulation. Avoid mowing 6 hours before or after, and do not water for at least 1 hour. Carpet grass, bentgrass and bahia are 20 to 40ml. Do not use on Kentucky Bluegrass.

What does a growth regulator actually do?+
It slows down leaf and stem elongation, so your lawn grows up more slowly and puts its energy into density and colour. The result is fewer clippings, less mowing and a tighter, stronger lawn.
How much less will I mow?+
Application rates are designed to cut clippings by 20 to 50% over a 2 to 6 week period. Conditions and how you manage the lawn affect the result, so you can adjust the rate to suit.
How fast does it work?+
Growth regulation begins within 3 to 5 days of spraying.
Can I use it on any lawn?+
It suits couch, buffalo, kikuyu, fescue, ryegrass, carpet grass, bentgrass and bahia, at different rates for each. Do not use it on Kentucky Bluegrass, as damage may occur. Measure your lawn first so you mix accurately and get even coverage.
Any tips for applying it?+
Spray when the lawn is actively growing and temperatures are moderate, not in extreme heat or when the lawn is under heavy stress. Reapply before growth takes off again. The gap is shorter in warm weather and longer in cool weather. Avoid mowing for 6 hours before or after application, only mix what you will use on the day, and rinse your sprayer thoroughly with clean water afterwards. If you tank-mix it with Pure Iron+, hold off watering for at least 4 hours so the leaf can take up the iron.
