Prepare the ground

Lay it fresh on the day it arrives. Stagger the joints like brickwork, butt the rolls up tight, then roll or tamp it down.

How is it delivered, and how fresh is it?+
It is cut to order and delivered fresh from the farm, sold by the square metre. Have your ground ready so you can lay it the same day it arrives.
How soon can I mow it?+
Wait until the turf has rooted down and no longer lifts when you tug a corner, usually around 2 to 3 weeks. Keep the first cut high.
Will it grow in shade?+
Yes, that is what it is best at. Stampede rates 5 out of 5 for shade and will grow from full sun to heavy shade, as long as it gets at least 2 hours of sun a day.
How much water does it need?+
Water deeply right after laying, then daily for the first 2 to 3 weeks. Once established it needs far less. It rates 3 out of 5 for drought, so give it a deep drink in hot dry spells.
Stampede or Sir Walter?+
